News, London, Communities, Metro, Video…

On Monday 6th of February 2006, the quality of the presentations and the impressively high turnout confirmed the growing level of interest in the French chapter of the Mobile Monday network.

Joseph Rinaudo took us through some of the latest trends in mobile.

Our British guest Richard Sedgwick showed how Motricity has added a “community” dimension to games, media and other mobile services, helping build audience loyalty.

Patrick Vautier revealed the RATP’s strategy for enriching time spent on public transport by offering connectivity across all the network and a wide range of additional services.

And with his contagious passion, Rodrigo Sepúlveda introduced us to the vpod.tv project - film what you like, upload in one click, and broadcast to any screen …

Let’s not forget the prize-winning films from the Mobile Film Festival and Laptopkfe, a guide to the most Wi-Fi friendly cafés in Paris.

Daniel Kaplan (FING) and Stéphane Distinguin (Silicon Sentier) ended the session by inviting us all to join them again for the next session on the 3rd of April 2006.

The first Mobile Monday in Paris - a great success!

Jari Tammisto, who founded the Mobile Monday movement in 2000, came all the way from Finland to help us get the first Mobile Monday in France off to a successful start. He was joined by 250 senior managers and other representatives of some of the key players in the mobile sector.

This event was organised by Fing and Silicon Sentier, and hosted by Daniel Kaplan (Fing).

Stéphane Distinguin presented Digitick’s paperless m-ticketing solution.
Philippe Kerignard from Bouygues Telecom shared his thoughts on some of the latest developements in i-mode, in particular the ability to search using the Exalead and Google search engines.

Xavier des Horts from Nokia gave a fascinating presentation on the development of Mobile TV and the DVBH technology that powers it, and on the new Nokia N92 handset.

Joelle Mensah from Celsa presented the results of a study carried out by AFOM on how people use mobile phones and the impact of these devices on social behaviour, together with the book “Mobile Attitude”.
